Wet scrubbers are effective air pollution control devices for removing particles and/or gases from industrial exhaust streams. A wet scrubber operates by introducing the dirty gas stream with a scrubbing liquid typically water.
A venture scrubber is a type of wet scrubber. Venturi effect occurs when gas or fluid is pushed through a throat or choke to increase the velocity of the fluid or gas stream passing through.
A venturi scrubber excels at removing particulates and even some gases pollutants. However they required more energy to operate and are not effective as traditional packed bed wet scrubbers for some applications such as those with gases I acid stream.
